IMEC Corridor

The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is a multilateral economic-corridor initiative announced at the G20 Summit in September 2023, connecting India's western ports through the Arabian Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel to European ports in Italy, France, and Germany. Signatory states: India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the European Union, Italy, France, and Germany.
At full maturity, IMEC cuts India-to-Europe transit time by approximately 40% versus the Suez route. Olam modeling projects $300-$600 billion in annual goods value moving through Haifa by 2046 once the corridor is fully operational. The corridor's rail spine ends at Haifa; the Saudi-to-Jordan-to-Israel link cannot be built without Saudi-Israeli normalization.
