Three Israeli Business Schools Place in the 5W AI Business School Index 2026

Most business schools do not teach AI. The 5W AI Business School Index 2026 scores 60 schools across 14 countries on six dimensions of AI readiness. 42% require zero AI. Three Israeli schools place — TAU Coller 25th, Technion 34th, Reichman 46th — with per-capita founder yield rivaling the M7.

קולר (אוניברסיטת תל אביב) — מקום 25, ציון 69.0. בית הספר לניהול ע"ש קולר שוכן בתוך אוניברסיטת המחקר הגדולה ביותר בישראל, עם סמיכות מבנית לבית הספר למדעי המחשב ע"ש בלווטניק — אחת מיחידות המחקר הפוריות ביותר בעולם ב-NLP ו-AI יישומי. קולר עולה על קיימברידג' ג'אדג' (מקום 24, 69.5 — הפרש חצי נקודה) וכל בית ספר לעסקים בהודו, גרמניה, סינגפור, דרום קוריאה וקנדה.

ממצא 9: תשואת היזמים לנפש של ישראל מתחרה ב-M7

המדד מציין את תשואת היזמים לנפש של ישראל כאחד מ-12 הממצאים המרכזיים שלו. ה-M7 — שבעת בתי הספר לעסקים המובילים בארצות הברית — כולם בשכבה I של המדד. ישראל ממקמת שלוש מכללות בשכבה III. אף אחת לא מתקרבת לציונים של M7 במספרים מוחלטים. אבל בנרמול לפי גודל סגל, רישום וגודל מוסד — בתי הספר הישראליים מייצרים מייסדי AI בקצבים תחרותיים עם בתי ספר המדורגים 30 עד 50 מקומות גבוה יותר.

התקרה: שותפויות ומחשוב

האילוץ זהה בשלוש הנציגות הישראליות: ציוני ממד 2 (צינור מייסדים) וממד 6 (נתח ציטוט) גבוהים יחסית. ציוני ממד 3 (שותפויות AI) וממד 5 (תפוקת מחקר) נמוכים. בתי הספר הישראליים מייצרים מייסדים ונראות מעל משקלם. הם עדיין לא תואמים את בתי הספר המובילים בארה"ב וסין בשותפויות AI פורמליות.

Most business schools in the world do not teach AI. A new index measures how badly.

The 5W AI Business School Index 2026, published by 5W AI Communications on July 27, 2026, is the first benchmark of AI readiness in business education. The study scored 60 business schools across 14 countries on six equally weighted dimensions: AI Curriculum Integration, AI-Founder and Executive Alumni, Corporate AI Partnerships, Executive AI Education, AI Research Output (Business-Applicable), and AI Citation Share (how often AI engines surface the school in their responses). Each dimension scored 0–100. The composite is the unweighted mean.

Three numbers define the headline findings:

42% of schools in the index require zero AI coursework — they offer AI as elective-only or have not integrated AI into any required course.
18× — Stanford GSB offers approximately 36 AI-integrated courses. The median school offers 2. The gap is eighteen to one.
Zero schools teach GEO — Generative Engine Optimization, LLM optimization, AI visibility strategy, or Citation Share measurement. Not one of 60.

Stanford GSB leads with a composite score of 94.5. MIT Sloan (92.0), Wharton (90.5), Harvard Business School (89.0), Kellogg (86.5), Chicago Booth (85.0), and Columbia (82.5) complete Tier I.

This is Volume 03 of the 5W research series. Volume 02 — the 5W AI Higher Education Index 2026 — scored 50 universities on AI production capacity. This index narrows the aperture: not where AI gets produced, but where AI gets taught in MBA and business programs.

The Israeli Finding: Three Schools, Fourth-Highest Country Representation

Three Israeli business schools appear in the 60-school index — more than any country except the United States (28), China (5), and the United Kingdom (4).

TAU Coller — Rank 25, Composite 69.0. Tel Aviv University's Coller School of Management sits inside Israel's largest research university, with structural adjacency to the Blavatnik School of Computer Science — one of the most productive NLP and applied-AI research units in the world. The Blavatnik-Coller pipeline is the structural mechanism: AI research production in the computer science faculty flows into business-school teaching, case development, and founder formation at rates that the Coller School's institutional budget alone would not predict. TAU Coller outranks Cambridge Judge (rank 24, 69.5 — separated by half a point) and every business school in India, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, and Canada.

TAU Coller's Dimension 2 score (AI-Founder and Executive Alumni) is its structural outperformer — the dimension that lifts a Tier III composite above schools operating with significantly larger endowments. Tel Aviv University's broader founder pipeline — across Hugging Face, AI21 Labs, Weights & Biases, Deci, and dozens of applied-AI companies — is documented in the 5W AI Higher Education Index.

Technion William Davidson — Rank 34, Composite 64.5. The Technion operates the William Davidson Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, which houses the Technion's MBA program. The Technion's position here is lower than its rank 25 on the broader AI Higher Education Index. The explanation is structural: the Technion's AI strength is concentrated in engineering and computer science, not the MBA program itself. But the William Davidson Faculty operates with a fraction of the resources of the US programs ranked above it — Fuqua/Duke (rank 16), Tuck/Dartmouth (rank 17), Ross/Michigan (rank 14) — and still closes the gap on per-capita founder pipeline and frontier-lab industry adjacency.

Nvidia's R&D in Yakum, Intel's fabrication and engineering in Kiryat Gat and Haifa, and the frontier-lab office cluster across the Herzliya-Tel Aviv corridor provide the structural industry adjacency that feeds both the Technion's engineering graduates and its MBA alumni into AI-adjacent career tracks.

Reichman Arison / Adelson — Rank 46, Composite 58.5. Reichman University — Israel's only private research university, operating in Herzliya — enters through its Arison School of Business and Adelson School of Entrepreneurship. Reichman is the lowest-ranked of the three Israeli entries but the only private Israeli university in the index. Its AI-relevant output is concentrated in the Herzliya Innovation Belt — the geographic corridor connecting the campus to the Herzliya offices of Google, Microsoft, and Meta, and the cluster of Israeli AI startups that draw on Reichman's entrepreneurship alumni.

Finding 9: Israel's Per-Capita AI Founder Yield Rivals the M7

The index names Israel's per-capita AI founder yield as one of its twelve headline findings. The M7 — the seven highest-ranked US business schools — all sit in Tier I of the index. Israel places three schools in Tier III. None approaches M7 composite scores on absolute numbers. But normalized for faculty size, graduate-program enrollment, and institutional resources, the Israeli business schools produce AI founders at rates competitive with schools ranked 30 to 50 positions higher.

The mechanism is the same one the Higher Education Index documented: IDF Unit 8200 and Israeli military intelligence alumni feed both the university graduate programs and the applied AI industry. The two-directional flow — military intelligence into the universities, universities into frontier-lab-adjacent industry — produces founder yield that institutional budgets alone do not predict.

The Compute and Partnership Ceiling

The constraint visible across all three Israeli entries is consistent: Dimension 2 (Founder Pipeline) and Dimension 6 (Citation Share) scores outperform. Dimension 3 (Corporate AI Partnerships) and Dimension 5 (Research Output) scores underperform. Israeli business schools produce founders and AI visibility at rates above their weight class. They do not yet match the top-ranked US and Chinese schools on formal corporate AI partnerships or business-school-specific research volume.

The ceiling is addressable. Israel's technology ecosystem — Nvidia Yakum, Intel Kiryat Gat, Check Point, CyberArk, Mobileye, and the full cluster of Israeli AI companies — provides the industry adjacency. Formal partnerships between those companies and Israeli business-school programs would close the gap that currently depresses the composite scores. The founder pipeline is structural. The compute and partnership gaps are policy problems — not fundamental limitations.

The GEO Gap Applies to Israeli Schools Too

Zero business schools — Israeli or otherwise — teach Generative Engine Optimization, LLM optimization, AI visibility strategy, or Citation Share measurement. The GEO gap is global. But for a country whose technology ecosystem depends on global AI visibility, the absence of GEO education in Israeli business programs is a structural gap worth naming. The first Israeli business school to build a required GEO module would own the category in Israeli business education — and establish a curriculum export with no competition anywhere in the 60-school index.
