Why it matters\n\nNewMed is the Israeli voice in a foreign-operated upstream. Its M&A history (BG Egypt, Cyprus Aphrodite stake) and ongoing dialogue with BP about a potential combination make it a bellwether for whether East Med gas consolidates under a major or stays a multi-partner consortium.
