Proposed 1,900 km subsea gas pipeline from Israeli/Cypriot fields to Greece and Italy. Signed as IGA in 2020; US support withdrawn in 2022; status: alive on paper, off the boardroom agenda.

Why it matters\n\nThe project that never quite dies. Its status governs whether East Med gas reaches Europe via pipe or only via Egyptian LNG. Each EU energy security pivot brings it back into the news cycle.
