To Every Jew Under 35: Tel Aviv, June 17

Shurat HaDin founder Nitsana Darshan-Leitner on the launch of Young Professionals — a standing community for Israelis and diaspora Jews 21–35, opening June 17 in Tel Aviv with former Shabak officer Amit Assa on Israel's multi-front war.

I have spent more than two decades fighting terrorists in courtrooms on three continents. I have sued Iran. I have sued Hamas. I have sued the Palestinian Authority and won billion-dollar judgments for the families of murdered Israelis and Americans.

I am not easily moved. I am moved now. On Wednesday, June 17, at the Brodt Center in Tel Aviv, Shurat HaDin will hold its first Young Professionals event — and I want every Israeli and every diaspora Jew between the ages of 21 and 35 who can make it into that room to be there.

Who You'll Hear From

Amit Assa. Former senior officer of Israel's Security Agency, the Shabak. He is going to sit down and tell you the truth about Israel's multi-front war. Gaza. Iran. Lebanon. Intelligence operations. The media narratives that are wrong. The realities you are not being told about. This is not a panel. This is not a briefing. This is a candid conversation with someone who spent his career inside the room where the decisions are made — and who will speak the way you cannot speak in front of cameras.

Why This Matters

Since October 7, I have heard a lot of fear. From parents in Tel Aviv. From students on American campuses. From young Jewish professionals in London and Toronto and Sydney who are watching the world relitigate the Holocaust on a four-day cycle. The question I keep being asked, in every accent: what do we do now?

This is what we do.

We get in the same room. We hear the truth from people who actually know it. We build a bench — not a panel of pundits, but an actual standing community of the next generation of Jewish leaders, here in Israel, in English, on the record with themselves.

What We're Building

This event is the first of many. Shurat HaDin's Young Professionals is going to be a regular gathering. Every few weeks. Intelligence officers. Diplomats. Technologists. Journalists. Judges. Operators. People who do not require their answers to be palatable.

We are building this for one reason. The work Shurat HaDin has done for twenty years — bankrupting terror networks, dragging their financiers into court, freezing their assets, forcing accountability — cannot end with my generation. It must be carried forward. By people who know what they are carrying. By people who are not embarrassed to be Jewish in public.

To the 21-to-35-year-olds reading this: the Jewish people are at war. Shurat HaDin is the most innovative activist group in the Jewish world — and we are looking for the next twenty years of fighters.

We have built an institution that takes terrorists' money and hands it back to the families they tried to destroy. We have moved billions of dollars in judgments. We have changed how the world's courts treat the financiers of terror. We are not slowing down. We are scaling up.

That is what June 17 is. Not a social event. A recruitment. The first one of many.

The future of the Jewish people is not going to be decided by op-eds in foreign newspapers. It is going to be decided by who shows up — in this country, in this room, on this night. For those thinking about aliyah, this is the kind of room where the decision starts to make itself.
