Payoneer is an Israeli cross-border payments company founded in 2005 by Yuval Tal. The company built a global commercial-bank-agnostic payments infrastructure that enables small and medium-sized businesses, freelancers, marketplace sellers, and digital creators to receive cross-border payments from large platforms — Amazon, Upwork, Airbnb, Fiverr, and similar marketplaces — and convert across currencies at scale.

The company went public on Nasdaq in 2021 via a SPAC merger at a $3.3 billion initial enterprise value. Payoneer disclosed roughly $1 billion in annual revenue across the recent reporting cycle.

Payoneer sits alongside Rapyd and the Israeli cross-border-payments cluster as part of the Israeli fintech franchise that built infrastructure on top of, rather than competing with, the major US card networks and banks.
