Margalit and the Jerusalem Thesis
Margalit — a former Knesset member (Labor, 2013–2017) — built JVP around the proposition that Jerusalem could anchor an innovation ecosystem distinct from Tel Aviv's. JVP's International Media Quarter in the historic Talbiya neighborhood, the JVP Cyber Labs in Be'er Sheva, and JVP's NYC outpost collectively form a distributed model unusual in Israeli VC. Margalit's political career and his business activity have been intertwined; he has been one of the most visible advocates for Israeli tech-ecosystem development outside the central corridor.
