Concept / Capital structure
Strategic sovereign co-investment
A deal structure in which a sovereign wealth fund or sovereign-adjacent platform invests alongside a private institutional partner, typically with the sovereign taking a passive minority and the private partner driving governance and exit.
For Israeli exposure, the structure is how Gulf sovereign capital has moved into the country post-Abraham Accords without taking the political surface area of a direct sovereign acquisition. Mubadala's Israeli technology positions, ADQ's infrastructure-adjacent allocations, and several PIF-linked vehicles all use co-investment formats with US, European, or Israeli GPs as the on-paper lead. The architecture is what makes Gulf-Israel capital flow politically scalable.
