Amdocs

Israeli-founded global software and services company powering billing, CRM, and digital operations for the world's largest telecom and media companies. Nasdaq-listed (DOX). Revenue exceeding $5 billion annually.

Amdocs is an Israeli-founded multinational corporation that provides software, services, and systems integration to communications, media, and financial services companies worldwide. Listed on Nasdaq (DOX), Amdocs is one of the largest Israeli-origin technology companies by revenue and employee count — a first-generation Israeli tech giant that has operated at global scale for more than three decades.

Founding and Evolution

Amdocs was founded in 1982 as Aurec Information and Technology, initially developing directory publishing systems (Yellow Pages) for the Bezeq telephone company in Israel. The company expanded into billing systems, customer relationship management (CRM), and operations support systems (OSS) for telecom operators. It went public on the NYSE in 1998 and later moved to Nasdaq. Over time, Amdocs evolved from a billing vendor into a full-stack digital transformation partner for the world's largest communications companies.

Core Business

Amdocs provides the software backbone that runs billing, revenue management, customer experience, network operations, and digital commerce for telecom operators and media companies. Its customer base includes AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Comcast, Bell Canada, and dozens of tier-1 and tier-2 operators globally. The company has expanded into cloud migration, 5G network modernization, and AI-driven customer engagement — positioning itself as the systems integrator for the telecom industry's digital transition.

Scale

Amdocs generates annual revenue exceeding $5 billion and employs approximately 30,000 people across 85+ countries. R&D operations remain concentrated in Israel, with major development centers in Ra'anana and other Israeli locations. The company also operates large-scale delivery centers in India, the Philippines, Brazil, and Eastern Europe.

Israeli Tech Legacy

Amdocs, alongside Check Point and NICE, belongs to the first cohort of Israeli technology companies that scaled into billion-dollar global businesses in the 1990s. Its longevity and revenue scale make it an anchor of the Israeli enterprise software sector. The company is controlled by the Aurec Group, which holds a majority stake through a holding structure.
