Wiz operates as one of the most institutionally significant Israeli-founded cybersecurity operators of the modern era. Founded in 2020 by Assaf Rappaport, Yinon Costica, Roy Reznik, and Ami Luttwak — all former Microsoft Cloud Security Group executives who exited Microsoft following its 2015 acquisition of their prior company Adallom — Wiz built a multi-cloud security platform across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

The company's growth trajectory between 2020 and 2025 was among the fastest of any Israeli-founded enterprise software company. The Google acquisition was announced in 2024 and closed at $32 billion on March 11, 2026, becoming the largest single Israeli technology exit in history.

Assaf Rappaport, the Wiz CEO, has continued in Google Cloud security leadership following the close. The Wiz Tel Aviv operation continues under Google's Israeli operating structure.
