Mobileye operates as the major Israeli autonomous-driving systems operator. The company was founded in 1999 by Hebrew University Professor Amnon Shashua (alongside collaborators) and grew through the 2000s and 2010s to operate as a category-defining automotive vision and autonomous-driving systems operator.

The 2017 acquisition by Intel at $15.3 billion represented one of the larger Israeli technology M&A transactions in history. Following multiple years operating as a wholly owned Intel subsidiary, the October 2022 partial spin-IPO returned Mobileye to the public market with Intel retaining majority ownership.

Amnon Shashua continues to operate as Mobileye CEO. The company maintains substantial Jerusalem-based research and engineering operations alongside international operations supporting the automotive customer base.

The company's autonomous-driving stack spans EyeQ system-on-chip silicon, computer-vision algorithms, REM mapping infrastructure, and the broader integrated autonomous-driving architecture. Major automotive OEM customers globally integrate Mobileye technology across multiple production vehicle programs.
