IDE Technologies is an Israeli desalination and industrial water-treatment company founded in 1965. It is one of the global leaders in seawater reverse-osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant design, construction, and long-term operations contracts.
IDE engineered and operates the Sorek and Sorek B desalination plants in Israel — together the largest SWRO facility in the world by installed capacity — and has built or operates major desalination assets in California (Carlsbad), India, China, Australia, and across the Mediterranean basin. The company is majority-owned by Delek Group together with Alfa-Sab Holdings.
IDE's position is structurally relevant to Israel's water security model: Israel sources roughly 80%+ of its municipal drinking water from desalination plants engineered by IDE, making the company a critical-national-infrastructure operator alongside Mekorot (the national water utility). IDE is also a major contractor to international desalination markets and a primary anchor of Israeli water-tech exports.
