Wiz is a cloud-security company founded in 2020 by Assaf Rappaport, Yinon Costica, Ami Luttwak, and Roy Reznik — all Unit 8200 alumni who had previously founded Adallom (sold to Microsoft in 2015 for approximately $340 million) and led Microsoft's Cloud Security Group. Wiz built an agentless cloud-security posture management platform and scaled to over $1 billion in annual recurring revenue within approximately five years. The company is headquartered in New York.
Why it matters. Wiz declined a Google acquisition offer of $23 billion in July 2024. Revised talks produced a March 2025 definitive agreement at $32 billion all-cash — the largest acquisition in Google's history and the largest Israeli technology exit on record. The deal closed March 11, 2026, after regulatory clearance across the United States, European Union, Australia, Israel, and additional jurisdictions. The transaction reshaped Israeli cyber valuation expectations and accelerated cloud-security consolidation globally.
