The company listed on Nasdaq (CYBR) in September 2014 and built the category-defining PAM platform — credential vaulting, session monitoring, and privileged identity controls used across enterprise IT.
Why it matters. On July 30, 2025, Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) announced a definitive agreement to acquire CyberArk for approximately $25 billion in cash and stock — $45 cash plus 2.2005 PANW shares per CyberArk share. CyberArk shareholders approved the transaction with 99.8% of votes cast on November 13, 2025, and the deal closed February 11, 2026. The acquisition marked Palo Alto Networks' formal entry into identity security and was the second-largest cybersecurity M&A transaction of 2025 after Google's acquisition of Wiz.
